March 2026 Concert

Rehearsal Notes - prepared by Joan Carter:
Here are the pieces we will be singing:
  • Joseph Haydn: Te Deum for Empress Marie Therese.
  • Mozart : Ave verum corpus
  • Mozart: Kronungsmesse K317  (Coronation Mass)
  • Handel : Dettingen Te Deum

And here are some rehearsal aids for you, Thanks to Yvonne Houston for her help on this. If you have a John Fletcher account (see my note below) then by all means use that. Otherwise I suggest you try the Cyber Bass versions. The Choralia versions are interesting because they use synthesised voices, which can be helpful or maddening. But a downside with Choralia is that you have to wait 15 seconds before the files start to play, unless you pay a subscription.. Use whichever works best for you.

Haydn: Te Deum

Mozart: Coronation Mass

Handel: Dettingen Te Deum

Mozart: Ave Verum Corpus

More rehearsal aids may be added here as I become aware of them. Please tell me if you know of useful versions, either as rehearsal files or as YouTube performances, etc.
Thanks, Steve Weighell

Notice - John Fletcher Rehearsal Files
Rehearsal files for most of the pieces we will ever do can be found on the excellent John Fletcher site. You can access some of the pre-20thC pieces for free by simply registering with that site. But many later pieces require a subscription.  This is £12/year for an individual, or £21.80 for a group membership for 2 people.  I suggest you all make that investment in yourselves to give you access to pretty much everything we are likely to do in the future.
