And on to the 2026-27 season. Here are some rehearsal aids for you:
Bach: Christmas Oratorio (remember we are not singing Part 4)
- Here is a good YouTube performance, from St Thomas Church, Leipzig, in 2018
- And here is an excellent YouTube performance of Parts 1/2 by John Elliot Gardiner with the Monteverdi and the rest - I love the way the soloists are happy to join the chorus.
- Cyberbass rehearsal files for you to use
- Choralia rehearsal files (don't select the 415Hz version)
SUMMER CONCERT - MAY 16TH
Well done to those of you who took part in the concert. It was a challenging programme, but you performed it really well!
Here are a couple of snaps from the evening:

I will be adding rehearsal aids for the Bach Christmas Oratorio soon. Please tell me if you know of useful versions, either as rehearsal files or as YouTube performances, etc.
Thanks, Steve Weighell

Now, here is a real treat for you! If you were wondering what Daniel was demonstrating on the piano at recent rehearsal, I think he was referencing the brilliant Dudley Moore in his desperate attempt to get to the end of a Beethoven sonata. Please watch this - you'll love it!
Here is the Latin pronunciation guide - non-optional! :-)
Note - John Fletcher Rehearsal Files
Rehearsal files for most of the pieces we will ever do can be found on the excellent John Fletcher site. You can access some of the pre-20thC pieces for free by simply registering with that site. But many later pieces require a subscription. This is £12/year for an individual, or £21.80 for a group membership for 2 people. I suggest you all make that investment in yourselves to give you access to pretty much everything we are likely to do in the future.
