Cleveland Philharmonic Choir

Joining the Cleveland Philharmonic Choir

Cleveland Philharmonic Choir welcomes new members. We are presently looking to recruit singers in Bass, Tenor and Soprano sections. However, our Alto section is currently full, and there is a waiting list.

If you would enjoy singing with us, why not come along to a rehearsal? We meet every Tuesday at 7:00pm in term time at St Barnabas Church, Linthorpe.  Before coming, just check our website for announcements in case of any cancellations or changes of venue.  Here are the details for St Barnabas:

St Barnabas Church,
1a St. Barnabas Rd,
Linthorpe,
Middlesbrough,
TS5 6JR

You can join in rehearsals on a "Taste and Try" basis, to see if singing in a large choir is for you!  Come about 10 minutes early the first time so that we can arrange music (most can be hired at £1 per copy) and introduce you to the representative for the section in which you start singing – and also some friendly neighbours! Once you have had time to settle in, we would expect you to have an informal voice test to make sure that you are singing in the most appropriate section of the choir. Only then will you become a full member of the choir and begin to pay a subscription.

Announcements for Choir Members

Happy 2018 to all our choir members - past, present and future! We are looking forward to an exciting year, with two of the greatest choral works in our sights - Bach's B Minor Mass and Britten's War Requiem.

There are some lovely new photos of the Junior Choir - take a look at their Recent Events on the CPJC tab

See Music page for required mark-ups to the New and Old Novello editions of the Bach, and mark up your copy accordingly.

See Denis Rigg's website where you can buy prints from his excellent portfolio of photographs - all profits go to our War Requiem fund.
